Bio: My name is Mr. Patterson and I am the Science
Department Chair. I have been at Woodlawn for 13 years. During this time, I
have taught Biology, ESOL Biology, AP Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, PLTW
Human Body Systems and PLTW Biomedical Innovation. In addition to teaching, I
am an advisor with the STEAM Club, with Ms. Caputo, and am in the process of
building a Makerspace at WHS.
When
I am not teaching, I am usually hanging out with my wife and three kids. I
love to spend time outside, exercise, build things, read, and watch movies in
my spare time.

Bio: My name is Dr. B and I am in the science department. The 2020-21 school year will be my third year at WHS. At home, I have an 18-year old black cat named Vida and a 4-year old Min-Pin Chihuahua rescue mix named Spoetzl. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy going to see my brother’s punk rock band play and grilling burgers at my sister’s house - I love cheeseburgers! - I get one from McDonald’s every day after school, except for Fridays when I get Wendy’s instead.

Bio: My name is Summer Hiles (Quisgard), I teach in the science department. I have taught Earth Systems, Biology and Anatomy and Physiology at Woodlawn High School for 5 years. Prior to Woodlawn, I was employed by the Institute of Notre as a science/PE teacher, Athletic Trainer and Athletic Director. I am currently the cosponsor of Class of 2022 and the Environmental Club.
I love the outdoors and cheering on both my boys and my Woodlawn students. I also love playing and watching soccer! Fun fact, I grew up in a Navy household and have moved around most of my life. The most unique place I lived was Lajes, Azores.

Bio: My name is Mrs. Ord and I teach Earth Systems Science and Honors Forensic Science. This will be my 2nd year teaching at Woodlawn.
My husband and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary this summer and we share our home with 1 cat, 2 dogs, 1 box turtle, and various fish. We enjoy going on hikes on the various trails in and around Baltimore County. An interesting fact about me is that I have lived in all four time zones in the mainland US (San Francisco, CA – Medora, ND – Omaha, NE – Baltimore, MD). One of my hobbies is mysteries and crime. I’m always reading a novel, listening to a podcast, or chatting about crime online.
