Graduation Requirements

Career and Technology Education completer programs are sequenced courses in a specific career pathway that provides a minimum of four credits.  Completion of required CTE completer credits meets MSDE graduation requirements.  Some Programs offer industry certifications and in most pathways are eligible for articulated community college credit.

Greetings! More than ever, teachers are committed to providing students with unwavering dedication and equitable, quality education.

Please know that we are student advocates and will provide guidance and support through the learning process.  Through this lens, we teach CTE courses that will provide students
1) Academic subject matter relevant to the real world.

Bio: My name is Ms. Louden and I am CTE School-to-Career Transition Coordinator and Business Department Chair for Business Education, Family Studies, Technical Education, and Apprenticeship of MD. I have had the privilege of teaching at Woodlawn for 21 years. I am the FBLA Advisor, and encourage students join the CTE-Business Opportunity Schoology group to find out about programs, clubs and events.

 

I am an avid camper and would love nothing more than to take all my classes camping for weekend with nature!

Bio: My name is Mr. Greene. and I am (in the CTE department at Woodlawn High School.  I began my teaching career in 1993 in Baltimore City Public Schools.  I attended and graduated from Maryland public schools in Calvert County.  My previous jobs outside of teaching high school include hotel management, bank management, independent contractor, and self-employer.

 

In my free time, travel and hiking are my biggest hobbies. I have visited more than 50 countries on six continents and hiked some of the highest points in several of them. Teaching is my full-time job now and a lifelong passion.

Bio: My name is Mrs. Goldring and I am in the Career Research & Development/CTE department. I came to WHS in the fall of 2001 and left in 2005  but returned in 2016. I am also an alum of BCPS, Go Generals class of ’87!!  I have taught 2nd, 5th 6th 7th 9-11th grades…ALL of the Social Studies core courses and a few electives, Reading, Writing, Gym, and of course AVID.

 

I have coached Woodlawn’s Girls Varsity Lacrosse and Varsity Soccer; Towson Varsity and JV and Dundalk Varsity and JV Girls’ Basketball Teams.

 

Outside of school, I am an avid soap opera fan and basketball junkie! I also am an event coordinator/fundraiser.

 

I love spending time with my family, my daughter, Kyrra and son, Chance and the rest of my large family.

Bio: My full name is Ms. Vanessa Williams Hudson. My assignment to the Career Technology Education department at Woodlawn High has been since 2014. I attended grade school in Augusta, Georgia. My service to education began in 1999 in Maryland.  Currently, I advise DECA, a national Marketing organization, which began in 2007 with co-advisor duties; within the organization, the Woodlawn School Store is under my management, and I welcome students to join and sharpen their customer service and marketable skill sets. Under the Marketing title, I advise the Woodlawn Advisory Club that partners with community businesses and entities to broaden student career path toolbox.

Bio: My name is Ms. Lynn Jacobs. I am the Early College Program Resource Teacher and Work-Based Learning Coordinator. This is my 31st year working in CTE in BCPS. I am looking forward traveling to CCBC with the Early College Program students and seeing them thrive in college. I am excited to work with the apprentices and students using their skills working in the real world. I will be building more connections for Apprenticeship Maryland to place the students.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy music and love to dance. I excited to be part of the Woodlawn family.

Bio: My name is Mr. Otto and this is my second year teaching Foundations of Engineering and other honors engineering courses at Woodlawn! I grew up in the Midwest and am loving being out on the east coast (and eating all the delicious seafood). I have taught in high school and college settings for the past 5 years and have focused on product design and development of student ideas into full-fledged businesses. Robotics is also a huge passion of mine, and I am the coach of our school's competitive robotics team that participates in a new game every year.

I am the youngest of 11, I absolutely love to cook and work out. I love going on adventures with my family (Husband Leo, Luna (4) and Leya (3). I love to travel the world and meet new people, explore different cultures and eat delicious cuisines.
