DJahana Smith and George Washington who will be representing Woodlawn High School for the McCormick Unsung Hero Scholarship Award.

McCormick & Company, Incorporated is proud to announce its 80th annual McCormick Unsung Heroes Awards Banquet, to be held Monday, May 11, 2020 as a virtual event.

As you know in  previous years, nominees, parents or guardians, coaches and athletic directors have been invited to participate in the live event. This year, the virtual environment presents the unique opportunity for teammates, extended family, teachers and friends to also join the event from their homes and celebrate their unsung hero. Those interested in joining may do so through the event’s landing page:

The event is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. EST.

The event will kick off with a live watch party from Baltimore DJ Chris Kopec.  We will follow our traditional ceremony and include the announcement of each of our Unsung Hero nominees. The announcement of the scholarship winners will be hosted live by Lori Robinson, Vice President of Corporate Branding, Communications, & Community Relations. Please join me in honoring these amazing student athletes on Monday, May 11, 2020 & share this invitation with all who would enjoy attending.

The McCormick Unsung Heroes Banquet honors deserving student athletes across all sports. A total of 114 high school seniors from 69 Baltimore area public, private, parochial and independent schools have been nominated. Two of the honorees—one male and one female—will receive the 2020 Charles Perry McCormick Scholarship, valued at $40,000 over four academic years. Two $7,500 scholarships and two $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to students for their efforts on and off the field, for a total of $105,000 in scholarships given to deserving students at the banquet.
