Our department has a dedicated staff of educators who also serve as your child’s case manager, para educators, and additional adult assistants to help you and your child excel not only academically but socio-emotionally as well. Please email Dr. Hubbard, the Chairperson of Special Education, if you have any questions and/or concerns regarding your child’s services or progress. You may also reach any of the department’s teachers through email.

Dr. Hubbard - Special Education Department Chair

Bio: Hello, my name is Dr. Michelle Hubbard.
I have been in education for over 14 years and have served as Department Chair at Woodlawn High School since 2019. My background is rooted in IEP development and compliance, and I am committed to ensuring that our students receive the highest quality education—academically, socially, and emotionally. My goal is for every student and family to feel supported throughout their time with us.
Outside of school, I enjoy time with my husband and three sons, visiting museums, trying new foods, and continuing to grow my knowledge of special education. I look forward to a successful year together!

Bio: Hello fellow Warriors. My name is Miss Allocca. I am a WHS graduate. I returned to WHS in 2009, as a paraeducator, in Special Education. Before returning to WHS, I was on Dance Faculty at Baltimore School for the Arts. I enjoy travelling and relaxing with family and friends

Bio: I began at WHD in 2025 and I have been in education since 2008. I began my career in the Tampa Bay area in Florida. I taught in the classroom for three years before becoming an assistant principal. I was a school administrator for 10 years. I moved to Maryland in 2023 and have held positions of IEP Facilitator and Special Education Department Chair. Prior to a career in education, I was an executive level accountant. I had an accounting career for 15 years. In addition to those careers I was a college professor, truck driver, a business owner, and I served six years in the U.S. Army. I served during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. I have two children and three grandchildren. I have only lived in Maryland for two years, but I visited this area several times a year for 20 years prior to moving here. I am happy to be here and I feel blessed everyday to work with the students and staff at Woodlawn High School.

Bio: Hello! My name is Ms. Hendrickson and I am a certified teacher in the FALS program under the special education department. I have been a Woodlawn Warrior for over 24 years! I am also the co-advisor for the Class of 2026. Some of my favorite things to do are crafting, baking and trying new recipes. I also like reading and being outdoors.

Bio: With a bachelor's degree in early childhood education and applied psychology, I bring a unique blend of understanding both the developmental and psychological aspects of learning. Currently, I teach 10th-grade World History, where my focus is on fostering a learning environment that is inclusive, engaging, and supportive.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that all students are capable of learning and achieving success. I hold high expectations for every student, and I am committed to guiding them toward meeting those standards. I believe that every learner has the potential to succeed—they just need to be shown how.

I live in New Jersey with my husband and our 3-year-old son, and we recently moved our daughter into her freshman year at the University of Pennsylvania. Outside of work, I love traveling, bike riding, and spending time with my family and loved ones.
