Hey
Warrior Family! My name is Mr. Chris Burkhardt. Before coming to WHS, I taught for 20 years in Wicomico County - and I actually started
my career at Woodlawn Middle School way back in 1997. I’m excited to be back
in Baltimore County.
I’ve
got a wonderful family – my wife and three kids – who mean everything to me.
I love to get outside in nature and go hiking. I also love to travel and
explore wherever I can get to whether it’s a weekend or a vacation. Soccer
(Let’s go Arsenal!) is my favorite sport but I love just about all of them
(Orioles, Ravens, Celtics)
I
hope to get to meet all of you in person real soon but I’m looking forward to
a great beginning online!

I’m Mr. Mauk and I serve here at Woodlawn in the Social Studies and Special
Education departments. 2022 – 2023 will be my first full year
teaching. I’ve been teaching full time at Woodlawn since March 2022 while
finishing my teaching internship! Prior to teaching, I worked with many
organizations across Baltimore as a Youth mentor and Advocate since about
2013.
I have
strong personal ties to Woodlawn, as my parents grew up in the neighborhood
(Class of 76!) and I’ve worked in this area with young people for quite some
time!
When
I’m not at school, you can find me cooking at home with my amazing wife, out
on a hike with my dog “Butter Beans”, or chilling on my porch with a good
