Bio: My name is Ms. Alderman and I am in the math department. This will be my sixth year with Woodlawn High School. My graduate degree is in Curriculum and Instruction and my thesis on alternative assessment strategies was an integral eye opener for me and has helped my instruction immensely. During the summer months I am the Math Director for a Johns Hopkins program that hires underprivileged high school students in the laboratories and recommend WHS students for the program.
I play tennis, golf, mountain bike and road bike in my spare time and this summer I also started stand up paddle boarding. The best thing that happened this year was adopting Lily, my new Shiba Inu, (pictured above).

My name is Ms. Johnson and I am in the Mathematics Department. This academic year 20/21, I celebrate 14 years as a WHS teacher. However, I have been a teacher for 20 years. My teaching career began in the Science Department and transitioned to Mathematics. I truly enjoy my role as an educator, and I am ready to begin the best year ever!
My hobbies include gardening, travelling and spending time with family. Also, I am currently pursuing my doctoral degree in Educational Psychology and Technology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. This program provided me the opportunity to participate in a Study Abroad Program in South Africa in 2017. Teaching is truly inspirational!

Bio: My name is Mr. Lookingbill and I am in the Math Department. This is my 3rd year teaching at Woodlawn. I love ‘aha’ moments, especially in the classroom. I grew up in Harford County, where I was homeschooled. I graduated early to study Engineering, then switched entirely out and studied Theology for BA and MA degrees. To pay for that I taught English in China for 4 years and I fell in love with teaching. I never want to stop learning and I enjoy breaking down barriers to understanding. I was a baseball player in college (versatile – I can play all bench positions). I am an assistant baseball coach.
If you want to discuss learning about other languages (I can read four), traveling, studying other cultures, philosophy, bad philosophy jokes, mythology, anime, or sports data science, drop by.
