Mrs. Frager

After years as a Radiological Technologist, a home-schooling mom, and a piano teacher of 30 students, Mrs. Frager began her second career as a librarian / media specialist in 2002.

She began her studies in Boise, Idaho at Boise State University.  She transferred to UMBC to complete her undergraduate studies in English Literature / Secondary Ed. She received her BA degree in 2002.  She immediately began her Masters Program in Instructional Technology with an endorsement in Library Media at Towson University.  She received her Masters in 2005.

Woodlawn High School has been her first and only placement within Baltimore County.  She began working in 2002 while completing her Masters program in Instructional Technology.  She is beginning her 15th year as the Librarian at WHS and there is no where else she would rather be.  Woodlawn High School is her home away from home.

She is an avid reader (and listener) of all kinds of literature and loves talking about books.  If you walk into the library, it won't be long before she tries to engage you in a conversation about what you are currently reading.

Besides reading books, Mrs. Frager spends time playing her harp.  She completed a 2-year program - Music for Healing and Transition - through Mercy Medical in Baltimore.  Believing strongly in the healing power of music, she enjoys playing for people who are suffering or transitioning from this life in order to bring peace and comfort during their journey. She is a member of the Baltimore Harp Society right here in Baltimore, MD.

She spends her summers raising and tagging Monarch Butterflies for migration studies through the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas.  In the fall, you will find a display of live Monarch Butterflies in the library as she prepares to tag and release them.

She is originally a native of St. Louis, Missouri and a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Mrs. Frager believes the Library is constantly evolving as technology is ever changing.  Students expect the library to be a place that embraces and promotes 21st century learning.  The library is open 24/7 - students are able to access the library catalog and databases 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

This year, Mrs. Frager has focused on increasing the library's e-book collection in order to meet the ever changing needs and desires of the students who are using their devices to read for information and enjoyment.

She encourages our students and staff to submit lists of their favorite authors, books, and topics they would like to see on the shelves of the WHS library.  She believes the library should reflect the interests of the students and staff here at Woodlawn as well as provide a large scope of global information.

Library provides a SAFE environment where DIVERSITY is embraced, TOLERANCE is expected, and ALL are welcome.
