Female Athlete of the Week!
Tamiya M, a sophomore member of the varsity girls' basketball team, is Woodlawn's female athlete of the week. Last season Tamiya started at point guard for the JV team. This year, Tamiya is playing the same position for varsity. Throughout the season Tamiya has been a playmaker, dishing out assists to her teammates. Tamiya has also shown leadership in helping set up the defense. Congratulations Tamiya! You make Woodlawn proud!
Male Athlete of the Week!
Marquis B, a sophomore member of the JV boys' basketball team, is Woodlawn's male athlete of the week. As team captain and point guard, Marquis is running the offense and distributing the ball, in addition to leading the team in scoring. Marquis is averaging over fifteen points per game, forcing many opposing teams to switch into a box-and-one defense. Congratulations Marquis! You make Woodlawn proud!
